This 6" shallow air tight new construction housing is for installation where the housing will be in direct contact with insulation or where there is no insulation. The shallow housing is designed to be installed in between 6" joist. Use a short neck PAR30 light bulb for a very clean look, available in either a LED or halogen. LED PAR30 light bulbs are recommended to turn this housing into an LED recessed light as they save 80% on energy use and last as least 20 times longer than the standard halogen PAR30 light bulbs.
