This cutter are ideal to cut materials made from aramid and para-aramid fibers such as Kevlar, Dyneema, Vectran, Spectra, Technora, Nomex, Innegra, Dacron and other materials made from fiberglass and carbon fiber in rope, ribbon, thread, tape and fabric form. Its blades are made of high carbon alloy steel procured from Japan and are infused with Molybdenum and Vanadium (HRC 60~62) through a proprietary manufacturing process to achieve a level of hardness (HV1200) to cut high tensile strength materials. It can also be used to cut materials such as plastic, canvas, vinyl, leather, suede, leatherette, nylon, silk, cotton, for upholstery, headliner, cloth, string or other knitted forms.
It's plier like form factor lends itself to higher leverage than comparable shears thereby using less force - effective in cutting thick materials. Its small size and the pointed nose helps work in tight spaces. The cutting performance is uniform across the length of the blade. Quick and accurate trimming can be done with sharp edges. They can also be used to make relief cuts during the lay-up process to fit the reinforcement into the mold. Also used to cut hanging fibers along the cutting edge of the fabric cleanly. Cut Kevlar fiber thread off the fiber optic cable neatly to install connectors.
