Developed in the early 1930s the compression driver is a special type of dynamic loudspeaker (meaning it works just like a dynamic microphone, but in the opposite direction) designed to fit onto the small end of a horn. The horn acts like an acoustic transformer, with the driver providing a high sound pressure level at throat of the horn, with the mouth of the horn providing a large area of low pressure to radiate the sound efficiently into the air. They work by attaching a voice coil to a diaphragm (much like any tweeter) whose surface radiates sound into the horn through a small opening known as the throat, which is where the compression occurs. There are many sophisticated design variables involved in producing a high quality compression driver.
EMB T Driver is a Titanium Compression Horn that is ideal for replacing old drivers or upgrading to a more higher end horn driver. The T Driver will give you the crisp clean highs you desire with a frequency response of 1.6K - 18K and 250 watts RMS each. These will fit all horns with a 1 1/8"" thread.. The EMB brand was designed to make the professional musician, as well as the musician low on cash, sound great. With your purchase, you will receive one titanium compression driver pictured and described above. So, put it in your cart today and get ready for years of trouble-free, crystal clear sound!"
