For the photographer who prefers a quick release system, Gitzo now offers their top of the line G1377M head with a quick release top. The G1378M utilizes the proven design of the G1285 quick release assembly, with it's secondary safety latch and security pin. Additional plates are available in standard or long lengths, for any size cameraor lens, in either 1/4-20" or 3/8" threaded versions. The G1378M is suitable for loads up to 17.5 lbs. At the heart of this ball head is a precision-machined, Teflon coated aluminum ball for ultra-smooth operation. The G1378M incorporates a separate friction control which can be set to counterbalance the weight of the camera, giving total control over the finest ofadjustments. Independent pan and tilt controls lock the head exactly where it is set, withoutmovement. All locking knobs have a rubber coating, for a softer touch and excellent grip.
