The HALO H27RICAT 6" shallow recessed lighting housing is engineered for remodel and retrofit applications where ceiling depth is limited, such as 2x6 framing, basements, and tight plenum spaces. Its compact, IC-rated, Air-Tite design helps reduce airflow between conditioned and unconditioned spaces while supporting insulation contact. A standard E26 socket makes H27RICAT compatible with 5"/6" HALO LED trims and 6" traditional trims using incandescent, halogen, CFL, or LED lamps, offering flexibility across recessed lighting projects. Thoughtful, contractor-friendly features like 4 remodel springs and the Slide-N-Side junction box with Quick Connect push-in wire nuts speed installs and help meet code. The Wet Location listing in covered ceilings adds versatility for kitchens, baths, and covered outdoor areas. The H27IRCAT housing is designed for remodeling use in shallow ceilings where 2-Inch x 6-Inch joist construction is used. The wide variety of trims available allows a number of different lighting effects to be created with one basic housing. The H27RICAT is designed for shallow ceilings where insulation is present. The H27RICAT housing is of AirTite construction and prevents airflow between living spaces and unconditioned attic areas.
