The X6EL is part of MicroTek's Scanmaker top-of-the-line series. A 36-bit, single-pass scanner, the X6EL has a flatbed size of 8.5 by 14 inches, large enough to accommodate most documents. A hardware resolution of 600 x 1,200 dpi can be extended up to 9,600 x 9,600 dpi (interpolated resolution) for crisp, clean images, while the SCSI interface provides super-fast downloading. Compatible with both Macintosh and PCs, the X6EL supports more than 68 billion colors and more than 4,000 shades of gray (64 shades in black-and-white mode). The image sensor is a 5,000-element linear array CCD that supports a maximum optical density of 2.8 Dmax (reflective) or up to 3.0 Dmax (transparent). Included with the scanner is MicroTek's ScanWizard software to help you get the most out of your scans. The X6EL also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.
