The Motic BA-310Pol is used to study the birefringence of specimens. Polarization is used in a broad range of applications such as biology, geology, mineralogy, industry and material science. Samples that are often observed are for example (Asbestos) fibres, foils, minerals, muscle tissues, gout crystals and many more. The BA-310Pol comes with strain-free objectives and a strain-free condenser to ensure no optical interference from the lenses. The Bertrand lens, focusable, is placed in the intermediate tube. Furthermore the BA-310Pol has optional accessories such as a quartz wedge, full ? plate, and 1/4 ? retardation plate.
