Description
- Infrared filters (sometimes called IR filters or endothermic filters) are designed to allow IR mid-infrared wavelengths to block visible light at the same time. They are usually used in equipment with bright incandescent bulbs (such as slide projectors and overhead projectors) to prevent unnecessary heating
- Since many camera sensors have high sensitivity to near-infrared light, filters are also used in solid-state (CCD or CMOS) cameras to allow IR. These filters usually have a blue tint because they sometimes block light from shorter visible and UV wavelengths.
- Digital cameras are usually equipped with IR blocking filters to prevent images that look unnatural. Infrared transmission (pass) filters or infrared blocking filters from the factory are usually used in infrared photography to pass infrared light and block visible and ultraviolet light. This type of filter is black to the eye, but transparent when viewed with IR sensitive equipment.
- The creative adjustable infrared filter is a compact all-in-one variable wavelength filter, and the wavelength can be adjusted only by turning the wrist. The index mark on the filter allows you to know the exact wavelength at a glance. No matter which wavelength you use, it can provide you with clear and accurate photos.
