  • BOTH SERIAL PORTS RUN AT THE SAME TIME 1 RS-232 AND 1 RS-485, NOT A SWITCHED PAIR A RS-232 console and a Modbus RS-485 multidrop can be live on the same box simultaneously, each with its own baud rate and its own TCP port. RS-485 runs to 921,600 bps, RS-232 to 256 kbps, 300 bps upward with custom rates, non-blocking.
  • MODBUS RTU TO MODBUS TCP CONVERSION IN THE UNIT, NOT IN YOUR SOFTWARE The gateway translates protocol, so a SCADA head end or PLC talking Modbus TCP reaches RTU field devices with no driver and no polling script. TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP Server, UDP Client and transparent transmission are all selectable, and up to four TCP clients can hold connections to the same serial port at once.
  • 970 V DC INPUT WITH REVERSE-POLARITY AND OVERLOAD PROTECTION, 6 kV SURGE ON SERIAL AND POWER Wire it straight off the DIN rail's 24 V distribution, off a 48 V bus, or off the AC adapter supplied in the set. Draw is under 3 W. Screw terminals are 5.08 mm pitch.
  • BROWSER SETUP NO SOFTWARE TO INSTALL Point a browser at the unit's IP and set DHCP or a static address, baud rate, parity, protocol mode and the Modbus gateway function. A Windows utility and a serial console are also available if the network side is not up yet. Real-time serial and network status are shown in the interface.
