The RS-Series RS208X12G series is a 2U 8 bay mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) SAS direct connection rackmount. The RS-Series RS208X12G use 12G SAS technology with 2x 12G SFF-8644 mini-SAS HD cables, up to 12G in 4 lane = 48 Gb/s or 4,800MB/s of data bandwidth for incredibly fast throughput per cables. The RS208X12G supports both SATA 6Gb/s or SAS 6Gb/s and 12Gb/s solid state drives and hard drives and is backwards compatible with 3Gb/s SAS & SATA SSD and HDDs. The RS208X12G can support up to 8 SAS or SATA drives using only two mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) cable. With a high performance RAID controller card such as Areca, ATTO, Dell, Highpoint or Broadcom / LSI 6G and 12G RAID controller, the RS208X12G is capable of delivering over 3,000MB/s in read/write performance with RAID controller, doubling the existing 6G SAS bandwidth. Drives status information is provided by the LED. All necessary hardware comes standard including mini-SAS HD cable x2, hot-swappable cooling fan, and hard drives tray modules.
