Swanson Speed Square, 7 in. Aluminum Layout Square with Blue Book (S0101)

Description

• Made in the USA: Swanson Tool Company makes the Speed Square in the United States.
• CNC Machined: Every Speed Square is CNC machined to a perfect 45 and 90 corner. Square marks that read true right off the pivot, cut after cut, year after year.
• Heavy-Gauge Die-Cast Aluminum Alloy: A heavy-gauge aluminum alloy die-cast body, 15 times stronger than standard aluminum construction. Holds its 90 tolerance under drops, dust, and jobsite abuse.
• Matte Finish: Glare-free reading in direct sunlight. The body doesn't blind you on a roof deck at midday like a polished square will.
• 7/8 in. Heel and 1/4 in. Scribe Bar: The 7/8 in. heel holds the square against the board edge for square and 45 marks or to guide a circular saw. The 1/4 in. scribe bar rips parallel layouts off that same edge.
• Original 5 Tools In One: The original five-tools-in-one layout square: try square, miter square, saw guide, line scriber, and protractor in one heavy-gauge aluminum die-casting.
• Diamond Cutout: Look for the Diamond Cutout. That's how you know it's a true Speed Square. Marks a one-motion seat cut on common, hip, and valley rafters.
• Includes the Blue Book: Swanson's pocket reference for roof pitch, rafter length, stair stringers, and field measurements ships with the tool.

Common rafter and hip/valley rafter scales permit one-number references for all cuts. The square is merely rotated to the proper roof pitch value on either scale to assure the correct angle cut. The slot along the scales will accommodate an adjustable locking pin for repetitive cuts using any 1/4-inch bolt and nut. Comes with a handy, 62-page pocket sized booklet that provides vital instructions, reference diagrams, and tables for the construction of roofs and stairs.
