- METALSMITHING TOOL: Measuring 10.5 inches, this chasing hammer has a wooden handle with a rounded end that increases hammer control and reduces hand fatigue often associated with metalsmithing. The 2.75-inch steel head weighs 6.5oz and has a 13.5mm ball pein face that is used for adding indents and scalloped textures while the 29mm domed face is ideal for dapping metal.
