If it does not work, reset it as follows: Take out the batteries from the remote. Press each button on the remote while the batteries are out. Press each button at least once. Doing this will remove any residual power from the remote and get rid of strange problems. Retest the remote to see if it can control the TV now. Sometimes the problem is the TV itself. A quick way to fix this is to power cycle. Simply unplug the TV from the power outlet and press and hold the power button on the side of the TV for 15 seconds. Then plug the TV back in and turn it on. Test the remote control to see if it's working.
