Introduction: The WyJen RTL-SDR is a high quality and reliable Software Defined Radio sold at a very reasonable price. It implements the RTL2832U/R820T chipset and is compatible with multiple operating systems including Linux / Windows / PCs / MACs /Androids / iPhones. It is designed in the USA by experienced engineers and is an improved version of the cheap China designed SDRs in the following ways: 1. 0.5 PPM temperature compensated oscillator (TCXO) Accurate tuning for such applications as GPS and almost zero temperature drift (0.5 PPM temperature drift). 2. Multilayered PCB Has Four layer PCB with dedicated ground planes. 3. Impedance Matching Uses Impedance matching on RF inputs and high-speed clocks. 4. Noise Reduction Power Supply Capacitors have direct traces to inputs. Traces are sufficiently spaced to minimize cross talk. The aluminum casing minimizes the interference of outside noise from getting into the desired RF spectrum. 5. Improved component tolerances Allows the RTL-SDR to work more optimally over all frequencies. 6. All Surface Mount Technologies Uses all SMT components except connectors and LED. This allows components to be placed by machines thus reducing errors made by humans such as overheating and potentially damaging sensitive components such as RTL2832U and R820T. 7. Component Suppliers Components are from brand named suppliers. This allows operational performance within specifications and minimizes component manufacture defects. 8.
